CARE FOR YOUR ART

Your framed insect specimen is made with great attention to detail and to the highest standard. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there are any problems such as damage in transit. I’ve been a taxidermist for around 4 years now and strive to be as ethical as possible. I have suppliers all over the world. All the specimens are legally obtained and are non-threatened species. They are always handmade with love and care and whenever you purchase a butterfly or insect, you are helping support the conservation of these beautiful creatures for generations to come as they are all from conservation farms or hobbyists. While I try to seal the frames without damaging them the perfect seal is never possible. Over time, depending on the environment tiny pest insects such as dust lice or on a greater scale museum mites are possible. Some signs of this are black dust falling at the bottom of the frame (under the specimen) or growing on the specimen. As soon as you see this you will want to place the frame in a big plastic bag and place it in the freezer for at least 48-72 hours. Freezing will not damage the specimen in any way. I would highly recommend every 3-6 months placing the frame in the freezer to kill any potential pests.

Avoid putting the frame in direct sunlight or strong reflected light. Try and keep out of damp areas as much as possible.
